Gearbox, the creators behind the wildly popular Borderlands series, has just released the trailer for the next game in the series, Borderlands 3—six years after the release of Borderlands 2.
Said to take place on four new planets with a whole new cast of playable characters, new and returning weapons, and a brand new pair of antagonists, The Calypso Twins, the game is shaping up to be something quite impressive.
Some interesting details are the inclusion of dedicated revolver type weapons, which have been missing since the original Borderlands, as well as four new Siren characters, which we have only seen three total in the entire series previous to this trailer release.
All of this is on top of the fact that we have an entirely new class to try out called the Beastmaster which can summon many different types of pets all with unique and powerful abilities.
These new features will compliment the visual upgrades that come with the new version of Epic’s Unreal engine (which underpins such games as Crackdown 3 and Darksiders 3) being used to run the game, gives this game very good signs of being incredibly fun.
The official release date will be revealed April 3 and it will be priced at $60 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
All we can hope is that it doesn’t crash and burn like Battleborn.
