For these two girls, winning is sweet—Hershey chocolate sweet.

Sophomore Anna Blum and senior Devyn Campbell are two members of the Beaver Area High School Girls Varsity Tennis team who compete in singles, but most recently as a doubles pair. They recently won the WPIAL championship tournament at the Oxford Athletic Club.

“Any match we play is challenging in different ways, but we came prepared and ready to win,” said Campbell about their WPIAL victory.

“Our first round wasn’t too bad, and the fourth round was okay. The second and third rounds were hard,” said Blum.

Other schools that participated in this tournament were Greensburg Salem, Greensburg Central Catholic, Sewickley Academy, and Knoch.

“For us, next are the PIAA state championships in Hershey,” said Blum.

The girls hope to bring home the gold (and the chocolate) November 3.
