It’s been a slow two weeks in the world of cross country . . .
Since October 2, the team has only been able to participate in two meets: another invitational at White Oak Park October 3 and a meet at home against New Castle and Central Valley October 6.
At the invitational, senior Will Lamb placed first in the boys AA section overall, with sophomores Ella Andrew and Constantina Krzeczowski placing eighth and fourteenth, respectively.
The Beaver Area boys team placed fifth overall and the girls team placed second.
In a season of struggles, Andrew was pleased with the team's performance at the invitational.
"Almost everyone got a personal best. I think it was our best race so far this season," Andrew said.
So far, the team has had two meets at White Oak, with another coming up soon. However, Lamb doesn’t find the repetition boring.
"[I don’t get bored] because it’s a fast course and the competition is always good," Lamb said.
At the home meet, Beaver Area won against Central Valley but lost to New Castle. Lamb was unfortunately injured for this meet and was not able to run.
