The Beaver girls basketball team is still on the road to a playoff spot. The team has kept their heads high and practiced hard for their playoff goal.
The team faced the Hopewell Vikings January 7 with an incredible 51-32 win on the Bobcat home court.
The team enjoyed back-to-back home court advantage when they then took on the Freedom Bulldogs January 9 and pulled away with an impressive 45-21 win.
“We went into that game knowing that Freedom was coming for us and that they really wanted to take us down, so it was important for us to play with confidence and go get the job done. I think by the score we proved to have done that,” said junior Emma Pavelek.
Quickly after, the lady Bobcats were back on the road to Beaver Falls to cage the Tigers January 13. The Bobcats enjoyed a jubilant bus ride home with another win, 58-28, in the record book.
The Bobcats began the second part of their season January 16 when they faced the Neshannock Lancers. The girls dominated the Lancers again with another show-stopping win, 52-39.
The lady Bobcats were back home January 17 to take on West Allegheny High School. The girls played strong and came out with an huge lead, 56-10. After the crushing win, our very own junior Emma Pavelek was named player of the game.
The girls enjoyed another back-to-back home court advantage when the Ellwood City Wolverines came to town January 20. The girls gave the game their all and it surely showed in the score. The Bobcats dominated the Wolverines 61-19. After the dominating win Beaver’s junior Gina Pollack was named player of the game.
“It was the most complete game of our season yet and we won by much more that we expected to,” said junior Natalie Priest.
