The Beaver Area High School baseball team is off to a great start to their 2026 season.

March 13 the Bobcats dismantled Freedom by an outstanding final score of 16-7. Senior Josh Derringer started the game on the mound for the Bobcats and was the winning pitcher.

Senior Max Tanner led the Bobcats with five RBIs as well as a double. Senior Mikey Corob hit the Bobcats’ first home run of the season.

March 20 the Bobcats won at Riverside 3-1. Juniors Derek Hughes and Jackson Reese as well as Senior Aidan Skalko each batted in a run. Tanner also got on base with a double.

Sophomore Cooper Hill was the winning pitcher for the Bobcats. Hill replaced Reese in the second inning and went on to pitch four innings giving up zero runs and striking out two batters.

The Bobcats are led by head coach Michael Mabin. Mabin is in his third season as the Bobcats’ head coach and led the team to the playoffs last season.

The Bobcats will be back in action for a double-header against section rival Hopewell tomorrow at home and then Wednesday at Hopewell.
