Well, as the old saying goes, out with the old and in with the new.
Now that former Beaver Area middle school social studies teacher Mr. Brandon Ambrose is officially a guidance counselor, there is a new middle school history teacher, Mr. Ryan Hulme.
Mr. Hulme has been a Beaver County resident his entire life. He is a Center High School graduate, and he attended multiple universities on his way to becoming a teacher.
“I started out at Elon University in North Carolina, then I transferred to the California University of Pennsylvania, then finally I transferred to Franklin Pierce University and earned my masters degree,” said Mr. Hulme.
The roads to careers aren’t always smooth and straight.
“I started with education at Elon University, but some family issues occurred and I had to come home. Then I went to California University of Pennsylvania, but I left again because of the family stuff and just tried to find a job at that point. I had two little brothers, and I wanted to be there for them, because my parents really weren’t,” explained Mr. Hulme.
After working numerous jobs, Mr. Hulme decided that it was time to get back to education, so he went to Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire and earned his masters degree in education.
“I love it at Beaver. So far everything’s been awesome. I will admit it’s different than my previous job, because I was working with 3-5 year-olds, and now I’m teaching history to eighth graders. But I really do enjoy every single day here,” said Mr. Hulme.
