With the first snowfall fresh on our winter boots, ECHO writers Kayla Head, Ava Sutter, Kallie Reap, and myself dreamt up a winter wonderland bucket list for our last Christmas in high school.
This winter bucket list consists of our hopes for the holidays which we will work to complete until our next ECHO issue January 13.
Our lovely bucket list entails:
1) Make a snowman
Once the snow falls more, we hope to build our own Frosties complete with carrot noses and corn cob pipes. Although Kayla is allergic to the chill of snow, we will build a snowman in her honor.
2) Decorate for Christmas
Setting up the tree and placing ornaments has never been so fulfilling.
3) Watch a family favorite Christmas movie
I plan to watch Christmas Vacation as my family favorite movie. Kayla prefers Home Alone. Kallie will watch Love Actually, and Ava will also cherish Christmas Vacation.
4) Drink hot cocoa
A cup of cocoa a day keeps the winter chill away.
5) Shop for Christmas presents
It is the season of giving after all.
6) Make Christmas cookies
We four plan to make sugar cookies with festive cut-outs.
7) Make and put out reindeer food
With oats, sprinkles, and a little bit of Christmas magic this nostalgic treat is sure to make Santa’s reindeer (Kallie’s dogs) happy.
8) Build a Gingerbread House
A staple (but frustrating) Christmas tradition, we will try to build a cute and lasting gingerbread creation.
9) See the play Christmas at Pemberley
Kayla, Kallie, and I plan to see this winter play set in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice two years after the end of the novel.
10) Have Christmas Dinner
This is a given; we will have Christmas dinner with the fam.
11) Go to Light-Up Night
I attended light-up night in Beaver for the small-town nostalgia and free donuts.
12) Group adventure to Café Kolache for pastry and coffee.
To finalize our holiday cheer, we plan to have a jolly brunch at Café Kolache.
We plan to tackle our bucket list goals throughout December and January.
I will update you, beloved readers, regarding our snow-filled adventures in the next issue of the ECHO expected January 13.
We encourage you to build your own festive bucket lists to capture the magic these chilly days have to bring. Have a wonderful holiday season!
