Some chocolate in Hershey is bittersweet.
Sophomore Anna Blum and senior Devyn Campbell placed 4 in the PIAA State Championship tournament at the Hershey Racquet Club November 3. Other competing schools were Villa Maria, Montgomery, Lower Moreland, and Holy Redeemer.
“We won the first two matches 6-4 and 6-3, but we lost the second two matches,” said Blum.
“The competition was pretty difficult,” said Campbell.
“I think in the last match we could’ve finished better, and we could’ve won that match. But overall I think the tournament went well, and it was a lot of fun,” admitted Blum.
With the Hershey tournament concluded, the tennis season officially ends—but high school tennis truly ends for Campbell who graduates in June. Campbell plans to play tennis in college, but has not yet decided where she’ll be attending.
Blum, however, will be back on the courts once the weather warms ready for another run at gold.
Congratulations to these girls on a wonderful season!
