Following the release of her highly anticipated tenth studio album Midnights, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has announced that she is touring. Swift’s tour, which she has titled “The Eras Tour,” will feature music from throughout her 16 year career, past and present.
Many fans expect that she mainly will focus on performing music from her four albums released since she was last on tour: Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. These fans could be wrong, of course, since Swift is known for her unexpected surprises, among many other things, by her fans.
With 27 shows scheduled for the American leg of her tour, Swift will be performing with nine special guests: Paramore (who are only scheduled to appear at the first show), beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, HAIM, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN. Each show will feature two of these special guests opening for Swift.
Swift has not been on tour since her Reputation Tour in 2018, although she did announce a tour for her seventh studio album, Lover, back in 2019, it was unfortunately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Needless to say, her fans are eager for her return to the stage.
“The Eras Tour” is set to begin March 18, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, which is where her Reputation tour also began, and wrap up August 5, 2023 in Los Angeles.
Tickets will go on sale in two phases: presale tickets will be available to Ticketmaster verified fans who signed up for presale from November 15 to the end of the day November 17, and regular tickets will go on sale November 18.
The tour will reach Pittsburgh June 17, 2023, so if you’re in town and a fan of Taylor Swift, try to get some tickets so you can experience this long awaited tour for yourself.
"I have been to her last two concerts, so I am so excited that she is coming back to Pittsburgh; I just hope I can get tickets, but if I can I will be there!” shared senior Abby Noah.
