The Bobcat football season has kicked off! Though the boys suffered a tough loss to Mars August 22, they came back and defeated Blackhawk 38-21 August 29.
According to senior Bryan Adams, “Mars was a tough loss, but we’re coming back bigger and better than ever, we’re going to beat Imani Christian this week!”
Despite Adams’s enthusiasm, and though the team fought hard, the Bobcats came up short 41-3 against Imani September 5.
The Bobcats still are aiming high this year hoping to play at Acrisure Stadium for the WPIAL championship.
The Bobcats held a strong record last year of 8-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play. With Coach Rowse heading into his fifth season with the Bobcats, the team is looking for a conference win this year.
The class of 2026 also looks strong going into this season with 13 seniors leading the team including quarterback Travis Clear.
Unfortunately senior Isaac Sessie suffered a season-altering injury during the Blackhawk game with a broken arm that required surgery. The Bobcats are hopeful to have him back before playoffs, but recovery will be tough.
After the difficult loss to rivals Avonworth during last year’s playoffs, the Bobcats are even more committed to beating the Antelopes. Last season, the Bobcats started off strong with a win against Avonworth, but fell short in the playoffs.
