Despite another loss to North Hills (6-2) November 5 Bobcat hockey is still keeping their heads held high and their skates on the ice even with a 0-7 record.
“On the scoreboard this game was a bad loss, but our team never gave up,” exclaimed coach Brian Vongray.
The team may be losing, but they are making the best out of a rougher year and hope that as the year goes on that there will be a couple of games that they have a chance to win.
Family is something the team focuses on the most; without that family aspect on the ice and in the locker room everything else wouldn't come together. Beaver Area Hockey needs that family-like environment in order to improve in other areas of play.
“This year may certainly not be our best year, but it will be a good year because the hockey team is a family, and this family has come together to form a great environment even when we lose,” said junior defenseman Hayden Vongray, “There's no ‘I’ in team, so when we lose, we lose as a team, and if we win, we will win as a team.”
After another defeat to Sewickley Academy (6-1) November 15, Bobcat hockey still keeps their heads up.
“We are definitely off to a rougher start this year, but we are competitive in most of the games. We are working on improving our defensive skills through practice and watching film,” stated senior goalie Brandon Scheffler.
The Bobcats’ next home game will be at Brady’s Run Ice Arena December 6 against West Allegheny; the start time is 8:05 p.m. Be sure to be there to support the hardest working Cats on ice.
