The Bobcats haven’t been too hot recently dropping five of their last six games.
The Bobcats baseball team finished the second game of their home series against Hopewell April 4 when they fell 11-1. Sophomore Tyler Kisling scored the lone run for the Bobcats by drawing a walk with the bases loaded.
The toughest test of the season was up next the for the Bobcats when they traveled to Montour April 11. They would go on lose 7-0 with Kisling registering two of the Bobcats’ hits including a double.
With no time to recover, the next day the Bobcats would get to host Montour April 12 where they would be looking to avenge the loss from the previous day. Sadly, the Bobcats were unsuccessful in doing so, losing 9-2 with Max Tanner getting a hit and an RBI.
Next up for the Bobcats was Moon Area in a non-section game April 14. It would be another tough game for the Bobcats as they fell 12-2 seeing their losing streak extend to six games.
April 17 the Bobcats looked to snap their season-long losing streak when they traveled to take on rival Central Valley. Senior Jack Ray led the way on the mound pitching 5.2 innings and totaling 11 strikeouts in route to a 6-0 victory. Isaac Pupi led the way on offense with two RBI’s.
“It felt really good to win one after going on a bit of a rough stretch the last couple of games,” said senior Robert Cestra.
The Bobcats looked to sweep the series against Central Valley April 18 after beating them on the road. Kisling and Pupi both batted two hits, but the Bobcats fell to Central Valley 3-1.
“We haven’t been winning as much as we would like to be, but the boys are still working hard every day at practice with the same goal in mind: win,” said head coach Noah Medich.
The Bobcats last two home games are April 24 against Ambridge High School and senior night May 1 against Blackhawk. First pitch for both games will be at 4 p.m.
