The world’s most dominating musicians gathered January 26 for the world’s most boring award show—The Grammys. If you, like I, neglected to watch anything besides Ariana Grande’s incredible performance, I’m here to give you the rundown on who won what.
Billie Eilish won every award. Every single one. Thanks for reading.
Just kidding, but not really. Eilish climbed to the top this year, earning herself five sparkling Grammy awards including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Other major winners for the year included Lizzo for Best Pop Solo Performance, Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Tyler, The Creator for Best Rap Album.
“All I’m saying is that Billie Eilish won awards she didn’t deserve. The Grammys [stunk], shocker,” former student and music aficionado, Zoe Turner said.
As usual, there were performers of every genre at the show, including newcomers to the industry such as Eilish, Lizzo, and BTS as well as popular artists such as Tyler, The Creator, Ariana Grande, and The Jonas Brothers. Aerosmith, Bonnie Raitt, and Tanya Tucker were also some major performers.
“The Grammys was not that great this year; I think a lot of people got awards they shouldn’t have, but it’s swag,” sophomore Cara Phillips said.
Unless you like Billie Eilish or Tyler, The Creator (which go hand-in-hand), your fav probably got robbed. Ariana stans, I’m looking at you.
