“Make the most of the time you have; you never know when something will happen and you’ll lose it all. Go to every function, dance, and event and enjoy the time you have with the people you have grown up with.”
Elise Bingle (Baldwin Wallace University)
“My advice for anyone . . . be present and live in the moment! When they say your high school years fly by, they aren’t kidding. Embrace your friends and teachers because you will miss them. Make the most of every day whether it’s good or bad because you won’t get that time back! All in all, take on each day with a positive attitude.”
Grace Stovka (Youngstown State University)
“Take risks and try new things that [you] normally wouldn’t try because [you] might find something [you] never could have done in high school and [you’ll] love it.”
Sarah Mateer (Messiah University)
“You don’t have to have everything all figured out right now. It’s okay to take your time and be unsure until you have had enough time to discover your path!”
Liana Kerr (Washington & Jefferson College)
“Definitely go into college with an open mind. There are so many cool opportunities that colleges have to offer, and if you’re willing to try some new things, you might find something new that you really like or make new friends.”
Bailey O’Leary (Bucknell University)
“Don’t take everything so seriously, because if you live so strictly you won’t find happiness.”
Anthony Bernardi (Working)
“Go out and try new things and if you don’t succeed at first don’t get discouraged and give up. If you are going away to college don’t be afraid to put yourself out there because everyone else is going through the same thing as you, so talk to new people. Also, it is not embarrassing to eat by yourself at the cafeteria because there are going to be times where your friends won’t be able to go with you and that’s okay. Make sure you go to office hours and reach out to your professors; you never know if you’re going to need extra time on an assignment or if you’re going to need a letter of recommendation. Just be open to trying and doing new things with new people. It is going to be really hard at first, but the earlier you put yourself out there, the better off you will be.”
Liz Del Signore (Saint Vincent College)
