The Beaver Area football team has done nothing but kept their heads high even when their game scores are low. The team is 1-5 this season.
But the boys have played some tough teams this season, preparing them for their domination next year.
The team took on the New Castle Red Hurricanes September 13 at New Castle. The boys played strong, but the Red Hurricanes won 45-0.
“It was rough, but we learned a lot from the loss,” said junior middle linebacker Joey Hammel about the crushing defeat.
The Bobcats quickly took on Highlands at home for youth night September 20. The Beaver Area football team just couldn’t seem to break the Highland lines, losing 27-0.
“I think we played well, but our defense struggled against their tall receiver. We still have much to improve on,” said sophomore corner back Wyatt Ringer.
The team didn’t hang their heads like lesser players might do; they came back and started scoring again against the Ringgold Rams. Despite the team’s 16-13 loss it was starting to look up for the Bobcats—there were points on the board.
“It was a close, hard fought game that came down to the last second, and their kicker just put the game away,” said senior lineman Dante Castagana.
Though they no longer have a chance at post-season play they have three games left in the season including their game against Quaker Valley October 11 at home at 7:30 p.m.
See you in the Dam!
