The Bobcats are playoff bound following a 14-3 start.
The hype around this boys basketball team was real when the Bobcats took on Lincoln Park Performing Arts School in front of a sold-out crowd at home January 20. Unfortunately, the Bobcats were not able to pull out the win against the Leopards losing a tough one 76-59.
Sawyer Butler was the leading scorer that game with 24 points including going 7 for 8 from the free throw line.
The Bobcats’ next game was January 24 at Hopewell when the Bobcats bounced back with a resounding 74-36 win. Senior Aiden Townsend led the way with 19 points while also going 3 for 5 from the three point line.
“To make it back to the playoffs feels great and snaps a long streak of losing seasons,” said sophomore Elias Kazas.
Next up was another big rivalry game against Central Valley January 27. The Bobcats took home another win 55-48 against the Warriors. Brady Mayo was on fire when he scored 24 points while Alex Tomalski had 6 rebounds in the game.
The Bobcats looked to sweep another rival when they played at Blackhawk January 31. The Bobcats came away with the win 63-39 over the Cougars with Ty Butler and Brady Mayo leading the way with 13 points.
“I’m proud of what the boys have done so far this year and the work they put in,” said Bobcat head coach Casey Kaiser.
The Bobcats have four games left before the playoffs and two home games left with senior night tomorrow February 7 against Ambridge and Mars High School February 13 with both games tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
