There might be trouble in River City, but there certainly wasn’t any trouble at Beaver Area High School.
Beaver Area High School and Middle School students put on a show to remember as they performed The Music Man March 29, 30, and 31.
Conner Johnson, senior, played the male lead role of Professor Harold Hill in the show.
“Musical was a great time this year. I had a great time getting to know everyone better and making more friends,” said Johnson.
The show was again directed by Mrs. Susan Metelsky with the help of student director Abigail Kohrmann (junior), Beaver Area High School librarian Mrs. Erin Bechdel, Mrs. Patty Ross, and Dutch Ridge Elementary School teacher Mr. Jeremy Selepic.
“I thought the show was marvelous. I had high expectations for this cast and crew, and everyone pulled together to make ‘magic’ happen. We entertained many people! The audiences simply loved the show! Congrats to all involved,” said Mrs. Metelsky.
The show was choreographed by English teacher Mrs. Heather Bixler with the help of student choreographers Bailey O’Leary (junior), Anna Jaworoski (sophomore), Isabella Dipietrantonio (sophomore), and Claudia Suica (freshman).
“The musical was a huge success. I’m so proud to have been a part of such an amazing cast and crew. It really is a big supportive family,” said O’Leary.
The show’s hard-working pit orchestra was directed by Mr. J.P. Scanga.
“We're very proud of all students involved in the show. Our student musicians in the pit did a fine job! I appreciated their positive attitude and hard work,” said Scanga.
Bethany Bonnar, senior, played the female lead role of Marian Paroo in the show.
“This was the best show I’ve ever been in. Not only did we put on an incredible show, but I made so many friends and had the best time,” said Bonnar.
“I think the pit turned out really well, and I’m so grateful for all their hard work because they really bring the show together,” added Bonnar.
Congratulations to the entire cast and the pit orchestra for three excellent performances.
