There’s a new student teacher at Beaver Area High School! Mr. Ethan Kron is working with Mrs. O’Rorke teaching social studies courses.
Mr. Kron is a graduate of Blackhawk High School and earned a BA in History and Political Science at Wilson College in Chambersburg. He is currently studying at Geneva College in their post-baccalaureate program for his secondary social studies teaching certification.
After graduating, Mr. Kron briefly taught K-5 at the Chambersburg intermediate unit and migrant education program before returning home to finish certification.
Ever since Kindergarten Mr. Kron knew he wanted to be a teacher.
“The most satisfying part of the job is seeing students grow and succeed in different aspects of their lives, either academically, socially, or both,” Kron shared.
For Kron, his big inspiration is his college sociology professor.
“She’s an amazing educator, mentor, and lifelong friend.”
Other than social studies, Mr. Kron would like to teach French.
“I took French in high school and enjoyed learning the language. I travelled to France a few summers ago and did not want to leave.”
If his students could take one thing away from his lessons, it’s the importance of history and social studies
“One thing I hope that my students take away from our interaction is that social studies is a powerful subject that has the potential to change our world. What we learn from the past informs our present and can alter our future. I strive to make these connections with my students hoping that they not only become better students but also contribute to a better world.”
We hope you enjoy your time here at Beaver Area, Mr. Kron!
