The archery team hit the bullseye once again!
Not only did they win the district title this year, but now theyâve won states! The archers competed against 15 other schools from around the state.
Although the competition was âonlineâ, they still outperformed all other teams. Archers shot here at Beaver Area March 13 and then submitted their scores for comparison against the other teams. The final standing was publicized at the end of March.
Under the guidance of Coach Russ Sabo, Beaver Areaâs top three archers were sophomore Ryan Subroski with 289 points, freshman Amara Stewart with 284 points, and junior Mason McCarty-Cogis with 281 points.
âWe had some people shoot lower this tournament,â senior Connor Stewart explained, âbut we had more who shot better, so our score increased.â
Overall, the Beaver Area High School Archery team obtained 3,283 points with 133 bullseyesâthatâs a lot of points!
However, the archery team hasnât drawn their last arrow for the season just yet!
Next month, the team plans to compete in nationals. With a little more practice and precision, the archery team will be soaring towards even more bullseyes.
âWe, obviously, just need more practice for nationals,â said Stewart. âPractice makes perfect.â
Hopefully the team gets to travel to nationals this year, but it may end up looking like another online tournament. In-person or online, keep those arrows flying archery team!
