The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) might be singing her praises this year,but we’ve known it all along.

Beaver Area Middle School and High School choir Director Mrs. Susan Metelsky has been selected to receive this year’s PMEA Citation of Excellence Award.

This award is only given to 12 music educators every year in Pennsylvania. It recognizes teachers who go above and beyond while working with their students and colleagues.

“Mrs. Metelsky is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. She cares about her students and works hard to produce products,” said senior Sarah Mateer, who has been a student of Mrs. Metelsky’s for the last five years.

“I am very honored and humbled to receive this award. I am very grateful for those who took time out of their lives to recommend me for this prestigious recognition,” said Mrs. Metelsky.
