PMEA just can’t get enough of Beaver Area High School’s accomplished student musicians.
Juniors Stella Begnal, Ethan Kopicko, and Brandon Kanell participated in the PMEA Region 1 choir festival March 22.
“Regions was one of the best experiences of my life so far! The conductor was amazing, I made so many friends, met so many amazing people, sang some beautiful music, and made wonderful memories,” said Kanell.
The festival was held at Greater Latrobe Senior High School. A total of 170 students participated from 35 different schools.
The guest conductor at the festival was Dr. Andrew G. Clark, director of choral activities and senior lecturer on music at Harvard University.
The pieces performed at the festival were All of Us, Abbeville, Hope and Love, Spiritual, Hear My Prayer O Lord, However Difficult, Flight Song, and Wo ist ein so herrlich Volk.
“Regions was such a fun learning experience, and I’m so grateful I had the chance to go,” said Begnal.
“I thought the programming of the music was fantastic—such a great overarching message of hope and love,” said Mrs. Susan Metelsky, the choir director at Beaver Area High School.
Congratulations to all of the students who had the opportunity to represent Beaver Area High School at the festival!
