A few months back, it came to light that former President Trump had quite the stash of confidential documents in his Florida home, despite not holding office since January 2021. After considerable legal back-and-forth, a raid was conducted on his home resulting in the FBI removing 33 boxes of various confidential and classified documents.
Questions were raised on if the former president could be prosecuted, and many Democrats called for an investigation into Trump, which is now underway.
Tides have certainly turned now that the current President Biden is in the same predicament.
Classified documents dating back to his years as Vice President have been uncovered in multiple places such as: his garage, his private DC office, and the Penn Biden Center.
Although the situation is certainly not good for Trump, who is under investigation by the justice department, supporters and allies of the 45th President are quite pleased with the new revelation, as the focus is now on Biden.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has even appointed a special counsel to investigate the sitting President to the joy of Republicans.
Public opinion of these events varies widely. There are those who simply do not care of Trump’s document mishandling, some who are upset with both—yet federal workers offer a slightly more outraged opinion on the matter, stating that they’d be jailed if they mishandled confidential documents so egregiously.
Regardless, both the Biden amp and the Trump camp are in deep water, which is even worse for the American People.
Trump and Biden are the two most likely candidates for the next Presidential election, and both have mishandled documents, and the question can be asked, can either be trusted?
