Excitement for prom week has been buzzing around the hallways since Christmas for some dress-obsessed young ladies, so here is everything you need to know about what’s been going on.
This year’s prom will be held at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh May 3. Tickets were sold for $85 per ticket and $170 for couples. To date 262 people are expected to attend the grand event.
Grand March tickets will be sold this week for $5 each, and the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Beaver Area High School auditorium. All students attending prom should be at the school by 5 p.m. at the latest!
The theme of the event, black tie, will bring the beautiful sights of the city to life inside the venue.
Mrs. Michelle Dietz, junior class sponsor, said, “it has been a lovely experience, and I think it’s really going to be amazing. I hope everyone enjoys [prom] this year. It’s been a bit of a dramatic year, but despite all issues, prom is looking great this year.”
Junior class treasurer Bailey O’Leary has been working with the other junior class officers to make sure prom sails smoothly.
“I think that it’ll be a big hit. I’m super excited about the beautiful location, and we’ve worked very hard to make sure everyone has a great time,” O’Leary said.
The lighting, DJ, and photo booth will be provided by Digi-Group entertainment who supplied entertainment for our prom last year as well. We also have Jason Christopher returning as our hypnotist, and a caricature artist from Black Powder Productions will also be on hand.
Prom is expected to be a fun night full of exciting entertainment and beautiful decorations. We hope to see you enjoying the night!
“I’m excited to see the hypnotist do mind tricks on my classmates and for all the dancing taking place,” senior Shelby Logan said.
