It sometimes feels like the underclassmen get left out or overlooked, but not at this event. This year’s Freshmore dance was February 23 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Beaver Area High School cafeteria. The dance benefitted student council, which is sponsored by Mrs. Laura O’Rorke.
“The dance had a lovely turnout, and the group of kids [attending] were wonderful. It looked like everyone had a lot of fun. It was my first time ever doing it, so we didn’t make much profit or intend to make much, but we wanted to make sure we had beautiful decorations and delicious snacks,” Mrs. O’Rorke said.
“Student council did an excellent job, and all the help was much appreciated,” she continued.
Around 50 people bought the $10 tickets and danced the night away with their friends to songs DJ Bill played in the midst of the fun, beachy decorations.
“The dance was kind of dull at first, but it got a lot better as the night went on,” freshman Nate Grundberg said.
Freshman Madison Flaw said, “I thought the dance was a lot of fun, but I do wish that more people would’ve gone. It was a nice night though.”
Sophomores, make sure you get to Winter Dance March 16. Be sure you keep the positive vibes alive for this dance too!
