Keep the animals warm!
Every year, each senior at Beaver Area High School must complete a senior project as part of their graduation requirements. If you have seen the flyers in the halls, you know there is a blanket drive happening now; for her senior project Alyson Petrosky has set up a blanket drive to help the Beaver County Humane Society—or more specifically: help the shelter’s furry residents.
The Beaver County Humana Society provides shelter to animals who have been abandoned. You can also rescue animals and give them a forever home.
The humane society aims to stop animal cruelty and strive to provide good lives for the animals there. In order to do that, they need donations from the community to provide food and warmth for the animals.
Petrosky is collecting old, used, or new blankets, from around the community to donate to the humane society to provide warmth for animals. Please make sure if you are donating used or old blankets that they are in good condition!
The blanket drive will run through February 28. You can drop off blankets in the box located in the main office of the school or the drop box located at 715 Sebring Road in Brighton Township.
If you have any blankets you aren’t using anymore, consider putting them in one of the drop boxes to help the humane society. Petrosky thanks you, the humane society thanks you, but more importantly, the shelter’s animals thank you!
