The cross country season is picking up with invitationals, tournaments, and medals.
Two weeks ago, the team began with MACs October 9, with most of the team qualifying and attending. There, freshman Ella Andrew and junior Isabella DiPietrantonio placing in the top 15.
The team, under the direction of Coach Goldcamp, took a week off until the invitational at Freedom October 16. At Freedom, juniors Will Lamb and Chris Gordon earned medals, placing fifth and 14th respectively.
The next tournament is the much-anticipated WPIALs, and everyone is anxious on how the team will do.
However, DiPietrantonio was happy with the girls' performance going into WPIALs.
"With two great races under our belts before WPIALs, the girls have a very good chance at breaking their personal records," she remarked.
Junior Chris Gordon is also eagerly anticipating WPIALs after the boys' performance at invitationals with a bold prediction.
"The guys are going to get top-three at WPIALs and move on to states," he bosted.
Let’s hope our runners earn all the medals they can possibly carry this tournament season.
