PMEA All-State will hold its first in-person festival since 2019—and three talented Beaver Area musicians will be on hand to perform.
The PMEA All-State Ensembles are made up of top high school musicians from Pennsylvania. Qualifying for the state ensembles is a long, tedious process.
First student musicians must been chosen for districts and pass the district to regional audition. After this step, the students participate in regionals before having to pass the regional to state audition.
Students who wish to be a part of the All-State Concert Band or All-State Orchestra completed a video audition of them performing a specific excerpt from a piece they were given in advance. The video audition performance must be recorded and submitted within the “Window of Opportunity.”
All-State is a highly competitive program. Being selected to perform alongside the state’s top musicians is a wonderful accomplishment.
Congratulations to three of Beaver Area’s musicians who qualified for the All-State Ensembles!
Sophomore Anthony Tabone, Bassoon – All-State Concert Band
Senior Shannon Witkouski, Percussion – All-State Concert Band
Senior Rebecca Mizer, Clarinet – All-State Orchestra
These students will rehearse for and perform April 6-9 at the Kalahri Resort and Conference Center in the Poconos alongside approximately 675 students from around the state.
“I am most looking forward to playing with such talented and motivated high school musicians from across the state and getting to know them over the four day conference,” shared Mizer.
Good luck with your performance Anthony, Shannon, and Rebecca!
