Even though the leaves are turning brown and the air is turning colder, people still seem to be talking about what they did over the summer.
While not all of us travelled to the four corners of the Earth, there is always someone in our midst who did. Just ask freshman Jakob Dingo who spent two weeks in Germany, Poland, and Croatia.
"I went with my parents and my sister," Dingo recalled. "I went to a German soccer rally while they were playing in the World Cup.”.
Dingo wasn’t the only Beaver Area student to go to Europe. Just ask sophomore Grace Druschel. She went on a Viking River Cruise of countries along the Rhine River in Western Europe like France and Germany.
"The best part of the vacation was when my sister got attacked by a swan," Druschel fondly remembered.
Sadly, not everyone can spend time in Europe, but students who spent time in the states still were able to have a good time.
"I went to Los Angeles for three days with my dad," said junior Daniel Cestra. "I liked eating at In and Out Burger."
Cestra also had a rare accomplishment when it comes to vacations.
"I did everything I wanted to do."
Cestra spent a day at the beach near the iconic Santa Monica Pier.
On the opposite coast, freshman Rachel Kopicko had a great time in New York City.
"The Broadway show was the best part for me," Kopicko said. Rachel saw Kinky Boots with her family.
Although school is about to get much harder as we head into the winter months, at least we’ll still have our fond memories of summer to look back on . . . and hopes of summer adventures yet to be had . . .
