As we enter the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, Beaver Area High School has been lucky enough to welcome multiple new faculty members. Miss Ryleigh Bauer is the newest addition to the 400’s hall.

Miss Bauer is a learning support teacher in Algebra classes and is a 2022 graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Here are some other great facts about her . . .

Where did you go to high school?

I went to Central Valley High School.

How long have you been doing this particular job?

This is my first year. So, 5 days [at the time of this interview]!

Is this job always what you wanted to do, or did your “path” change and lead you to this occupation?

Towards the end of high school, I always knew I wanted to be some sort of teacher.

What is something you want your new students to know about you?

I want them to know that I will always be there for them no matter what.

What is your favorite part about the job?

Definitely interacting with the staff and students, and just getting to know some great kids.

Did where you grow up have an impact on your occupation choice?

Well, both my parents and my grandpa were teachers. So I was always surrounded by and influenced by teachers.

What is your biggest strength that will help your students at Beaver Area High School?

I am easy to talk to and I am relatable. I was in high school not too long ago, so I definitely understand a lot of what my students are going through.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

To see a student succeed and knowing that you helped them along the way.

If you could teach another subject, what would it be?

Probably English class. I love English.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Career wise, definitely my parents. They have always helped me and I lean on them a lot.

What is one thing you wish your students would take away from you moving forward?

Try not to focus on the little things in life and to accept themselves for who they are.

Last but not least, what are some fun facts about you?

I love Dr. Pepper and Italian food. And my favorite sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers!
