Beaver Area High School had the pleasure of hosting the county choir festival November 21.
Juniors Carter Cavaliere, Jonah Janicki, Spencer Hagen, Breanna Trainor, Isabella DiPietrantonio, Rebecca Leith, sophomore Emily Garcia, freshmen Will Hewko, Andrew Cavett, Jacob Landis, and Eli Priest represented Beaver Area in the festival.
“It was possibly the most patriotic day of my life. The whole day was an amazing time bonding with new people and coming together to sing,” said Hagen.
The pieces performed at the festival were The Star Spangled Banner, Song for the Unsung Hero, Mansions of the Lord, and Armed Forces Medley.
Besides Beaver Area, students from Ambridge, Beaver County Christian, Beaver Falls, Blackhawk, Central Valley, Freedom, Hopewell, Lincoln Park, New Brighton, Quigley Catholic, Riverside, Rochester, South Side, Western Beaver, and Wilmington attended the festival.
“County Chorus was such a great experience, and I was very happy to have the opportunity to make music with other people from our area who share the same passion for music,” explained DiPietrantonio.
Beaver Area’s Choir Director Mrs. Susan Metelsky had the honor of being the conductor for this year’s performance.
“The festival was amazing. I am so proud of the students who represented our school, and I’m very grateful that the audience was full on the night of the concert. This festival was very special,” said Mrs. Metelsky.
Next up for the choir will be the PMEA District 5 Choir festival which will be held in Greenville January 18.
