Over the last few months, a small group of Bobcats have been bringing fame and glory to Beaver Area High School thanks to their exploits on the green. I am of course speaking of the illustrious Varsity Golf Team.
Through the course (no pun intended) of their approximately two month season, the team played in 12 games total, ending the season with a 4-8 record, winning twice against Blackhawk and once against Central Valley and New Castle.
While they may not have the most wins, they won against Blackhawk, and isn’t that what really matters?
Sophomore golfer Brad Allison has a rough idea of the steps the team is going to make to improve in time for next year
"We might do some conditioning in the winter, and that might help us win more next year," Allison said.
According to Allison, good conditioning will likely include cardio and muscle strengthening.
Junior golfer Grady Johnson is certainly proud of the way the season went.
"[Coach] Ludwig is really good at team building, so it doesn’t matter if the team wins or not; we are successful," Johnson proclaimed.
Mr. Ludwig could not be reached for comment in time for publication.
