Arrows are flying in the right direction for this year’s archery team.
The archery team added 12 new freshmen this school year which totals the team roster to 30 members. That’s a lot of archers!
In fact, the new members as well as the returning members have been winning competitions left and right. Currently, the archery team has placed first in their last two competitions.
“The team has definitely improved from last year,” said archer junior Emily Bubeck. “We are winning more competitions, but, in my opinion, there is still room to improve with the newer members who joined this season.”
Not only have the archers had two previous competitions, but the archers will be traveling to Central Valley this Saturday. The archery team also has another competition coming up in Portersville, which is located in Butler County, the week of February 1.
Will the archery team take first place again in Portersville? Only time will tell.
“I’ve been in archery for years,” stated junior Rebecca Leith, “and I have never seen the archery team perform this well. I can’t wait to see how we place in Portersville.”
It looks like the archery team is right on target to compete at states in March.
“The team has been doing very well,” exclaimed coach Russ Sabo. “With the way they are practicing, I have no doubt that we will go to states in March.”
