Rod Wave is a very accomplished artist who is young and talented. However, Wave deserves more recognition compared to what he gets.
Wave really became popular in 2019 when he released hit song “Heart on Ice.” Wave was 21 years old when he blew up, and on paper he has only been on the rise ever since.
From 2019 to 2023 Wave released five platinum-selling albums in a row. Wave is the first to accomplish that in the music industry. And now Wave is on the way to make that six in a row with his recently released album called “Last Lap.”
Senior Amari Jackson who is a huge Rod Wave fan said, “Rod deserves the industry’s respect. He is the only rapper and artist who has had five platinum albums; there’s no argument about greatness there.”
Some of Rod Waves’s biggest hits from those albums include:
Heart on Ice
Rags2Riches 2 (feat. Lil Baby)
Street Runner
By Your Side
Tombstone
Letter from Houston
Richer (feat. Polo G)
Girl of my Dreams
The Greatest
Great Gatsby
Wave is currently on tour at the moment, but many believe that this will be his last album and tour of his career based on his recent social media postings including: “This is my last tour, last album, last slap . . . ”
Wave will be performing at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh February 12.
Senior Brady Mayo, another Wave fan, said: “Rod is just an all around singer. If you want a hype he’s got that, you want a sad song he’s got that, or a song to chill with your friends to he’s got that.”
Yet despite the popularity, Wave deserves more credit. Surprisingly people don’t have many good things to say about him often claiming his music is too depressing or repetitive, and some people are simply critical of his weight, but what Mayo stated is true: Wave has songs for every vibe you want—plus, he has accomplished something in the music industry that’s never been done before and did that by the age of 25.
Give Rod Wave a listen and see what he truly is made of!
