Red Dead Redemption 2 is the sequel to the highly popular open-world Wild West cowboy RPG released to critical acclaim in 2010 by Rockstar Games.
The game has been praised by fans and critics alike for its amazing graphics, compelling story, as well as its world and dynamic gameplay.
Many enjoy the new cast of characters, changes to movement and gunplay, and the welcome change to the map, which has gone from a mostly barren desert to a variety of rolling plains, snowy mountains, and lush forests.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has also added a bevy of new features, including but not limited to: swimming, a first-person perspective, the ability to take screenshots in the form of an in-game camera item, and the release of a new online mode.
Speaking of the online mode, while it is not yet fully released, it was released in beta to those who preordered the (arguably overpriced as a $20 up charge) deluxe edition of the game.
Regardless, so far reports of the online mode have shown promise, with the main complaints being that there are not enough story missions yet released and that some of the weapons and items are rather overpriced. However, with the player-limit being relegated to 20 people on a large open map, overall the online mode, while a little rough around the edges, is a great fit for the game.
Overall, RDR2 gets a solid recommendation for what is shaping up to be one of the best games released in 2018 as it is an overall improvement over the previous game and even over Rockstar’s previous open-world titles as a whole.
Saddle up.
