Wrestling season is here and the Beaver Area Bobcats are ready to take down the competition.

This year the wrestling team is led by Beaver Area’s athletic director Alan Alcalde and Assistant Coach David Stark along with volunteer Assistant Coaches Bobby Rose and Dawyne Rose.

Along with our Bobcat wrestlers, Beaver Area has welcomed Western Beaver wrestlers to join the team. This is the third year of our cooperation with Western Beaver.

“Despite our 1-3 dual meet team record, we've been competitive in all of our matches,” said Coach Alcalde.

Dual meets this season so far have taken place at Ambridge December 7 and at Freedom December 14.

Tri-Meets this season so far have been at home against Central Valley and Hopewell January 11 and at Hopewell against Blackhawk and Southside January 18.

Other important non-section tournaments so far include the Chartiers Houston Tournament, Butler JV Tournament, Canon-McMillon Tournament, MAC Tournament, and Burgettstown Tournament.

This year’s roster includes leadership from returning upperclassmen Aaron Miller, Nick Thompson and our two Western Beaver wrestlers, Dalton Summers and Alex Snowden.

First-year wrestlers this year include Trenton Reagan, Boyce Hill, Seth Kullen, Caleb Kullen, Noah Reagan, and Emma Cunningham.

“As a first-year wrestler I love this sport and all the people I’ve gotten to know. We work well as a family and support each other through our struggles and challenges. I’m proud to be a Beaver Area wrestler,” remarked senior Noah Reagan.
