Congratulations to this year’s Daughters of the American Revolution outstanding citizen award winner, senior Haley Goettman!

The award celebrates students who exhibit exemplary traits such as dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Teachers and staff nominate and vote for students who they feel display these qualities.

The award, presented annually by the local chapter of the DAR, is a wonderful reflection on both the Beaver Area School District and the students nominated.

When asked how she felt about winning the award, Goettman answered candidly: “I felt confused at first because I couldn’t hear what they said on the announcements. Once I found out, I was happy about it.”

If she chooses, Goettman may enter an essay contest for a chance to win a cash prize from the organization.
