The boys' tennis team just concluded their regular season with a solid record and a spot in the playoffs.
After two losses early in the season, the boys finally hit their stride, winning all four of their matches since April 12. Beaver Area shutout Elwood City and Riverside at home, winning all five matches. Then, the Bobcats squeaked out a win at Neshannock April 29, winning 3-2.
Having finished their season, Beaver ended up second in their section with a 5-2 record, beat out only by Central Valley, who went undefeated 8-0.
The Bobcats played one fewer match due to the fact that rain cancelled their April 30 meet against Neshannock, and because it had been cancelled once before, it was not rescheduled.
In the playoff run, Beaver Area is set to compete against Highland in the first round, and assuming that they win, the Bobcats take on rivals Central Valley in the second round.
Even with this challenge looming, senior tennis phenom Jeffery Allison isn’t sweating it.
"I’m a little nervous for Central Valley, but I’m sure we’ll do fine against Highland," Allison stated.
