The 2022 track season is starting off great with the girls being 3-0 and the boys being 2-1.
The first meet was a scrimmage at Southside, and both the girls and boys teams did well. The second and third meets were at Blackhawk and Southside, and both teams performed well also. The latest meet was at home against New Castle and the girls won, but the boys lost.
“I feel like the team is doing great this year,” said sophomore Izzy Meadows. “I think that I perform best in the 4x800 because the pressure and adrenaline that I get from running a relay helps me succeed.”
The team has most definitely improved since last year, and with new people helping the team succeed, the Bobcats track and field team is poised to make a strong finish.
Many people on the team are also enthusiastic about their respective events.
“I love throwing so much. I throw so much and so far. [Junior] Dylan Young is my inspiration!” stated sophomore Luke Paskey.
Many of the runners on the team are happy with how the team has improved since last year. People have been setting new personal records and doing better than ever.
“A lot of us have most definitely improved since last year. We have so many newcomers that are helping the team improve so much, and I am really proud of how we have been doing,” said sophomore Lizzy Michael.
Come support your Bobcats at home while they compete against Quaker Valley at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.
