The Beaver Area Bobcats’ unforgettable softball season came to a close. What began months ago with everyday practices, high expectations, and long bus rides ended with a team that grew stronger through every challenge, every victory, and every loss.

Though the season is over, the memories and friendships made on the field will stay with players, coaches, and fans long after the jerseys are put away.

The Bobcats’ softball team ended with an overall record of 9-8. The girls fought hard in every game but unfortunately their season was cut short when they lost to Derry in the first round of playoffs.

May 11, the Bobcats traveled to Gateway High School (the neutral field site) and battled against the Derry Area Trojans. The game lasted seven long innings but unfortunately after holding their own through the first half of the game the Bobcats came out short with the score of 8-4.

On a brighter note, in the 2026 season head coach Amy Haggart accepted the achievement of 100 wins throughout her coaching career at Beaver Area High School. The team was excited to get to contribute to and celebrate this achievement with Coach Haggart.

Looking ahead to next season, the softball team unfortunately loses four starting seniors. Although playing softball at Beaver Area ends, these Bobcats will all continue their softball careers going forward into college.

Senior Rhiannon Rabassi is attending Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and said, “What I will miss most about softball is my teammates.”

Senior Cali Coups is attending La Roche University in McCandless, Pennsylvania and shared, “I will miss cheering in the dugout with my teammates the most.”

Senior Jaedyn Brown is attending Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. Brown said, “I’ll miss the bonds that I’ve made with people and definitely my teammates and Coach Butch.”

Senior Abby Hojdila is attending Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. “Something I will miss most about softball is the friendships that I made with people and how they impacted my life,” Hojdila shared.
