Are you interested in the arts? Do you like to doodle? Do you wake up in a cold sweat with the urge to let out artistic fervor? Well, on Wednesdays in Room C-8 you can let loose that creativity during the newly officiated art club.
After 30 years of unsanctioned status, the art club has finally been deemed an official club by the school district.
Club sponsors/art teachers Mrs. Rachael Zahn and Mrs. Emily Sgrignoli are spearheading this group of artists along with the help of seniors Reese Lindemann, Trent Liptak, Levi Sheets, and junior Kayla Head to lead the school in all of its artistic endeavors.
This year, the club is also open to middle schoolers.
"I think art club is a great place for middle schoolers to get a taste about high school art classes and for like-minded artists to find a community," said Lindemann.
Students can expect a calm and relaxed environment when they attend meetings, but will also be expected to participate in the various activities art club does throughout the year.
In its multiple decades of existence, the art club has done many things for Beaver Area High School. Over the last few years, art club has been leading the mural and bathroom mirror work for the annual Day of Giving. They've also been the main planners behind the annual Art Show. This year's art show theme is vintage films.
"I'm proud of the fact that the art show is fully student planned. Every art student is able to put a piece of themselves into the presentation of the show," said club sponsor Mrs. Zahn.
If you're a creative soul and would like to participate in art club, remember that everyone is welcome to join every Wednesday after school!
