It’s cold out there on the ice as the Beaver Area hockey team continues to struggle against tough opponents.
The Bobcats lost a tough game against North Hills December 8 by a score of 6-1 with sophomore Zack Masters scoring Beaver Area’s only goal. The Bobcats then took on the Quaker Valley Quakers December 15 for a tough 8-0 loss.
“Obviously these games are tough, but we are continuing to develop our skills and take away the positives from these games,” said junior Brayden Dawson
The Bobcats next game was against rivals Blackhawk High School January 12 where they lost a close game 5-3. The rivalry is made all the more intense as both teams share the same home ice—Beaver County Ice Arena at Brady’s Run.
“We tried our best but sometimes the puck doesn’t bounce your way,” said sophomore Caden Canavesi.
The Bobcats next game was a Monday night showdown January 16 against West Allegheny High School when they lost by the score of 5-1.
Later that week the Bobcats had another game January 19 against Chartiers Valley High School ending in another close loss 3-1.
The Bobcats will look to bounce back February 2 in a rematch against rivals Blackhawk High School at the Brady’s Run Ice Arena with puck drop at 6:45 p.m.
