Long time Bobcat football coach and principal, Dr. Jeffery Beltz, has left the “Beaver Bubble.” He will be Moon School District’s new Assistant Superintendent.
In July of 2000, Beaver Area Middle School and High School welcomed a new business education teacher, but what they didn’t know is what would come in the next 20 years of Dr. Beltz’s Bobcat tenure.
Starting as a business education teacher, then dean of students, followed by assistant high school principal, and finally middle school principal, Mr. Beltz held numerous positions. Dr. Beltz even served briefs periods of time as the district transportation manager and also the athletic director.
One can only imagine it’s difficult to leave a district after two decades.
“I will miss the established relationships created with Beaver’s staff, students, and community the most,” Dr. Beltz stated.
However, he won’t miss middle school cafeteria duty or “the unexpected, sudden weather changes that only seem to occur in Gypsy Glen,”—and who could blame him.
With no ongoing plans to continue coaching, Dr. Beltz is excited to attend events on the other side of the fence after 20 years on the football sidelines.
“All of the success in sports and academics occurred because people were willing to work towards common goals. Nothing occurs because of one individual, but I am humbled to know that others trusted me to lead and accept responsibility when needed,” Dr. Beltz explained about some of his achievements while at Beaver Area.
Having general oversight obligations of the entire district is just one part of his new job as assistant superintendent at Moon. However, his primary responsibility is to assist in K-12 curriculum development.
As his last day as a Beaver Area High School staff member passed, he wanted everyone to know, “my time at Beaver will always be cherished. In fact, I believe that my fondness will continue to grow over time. I am truly appreciative for so many wonderful memories and friendships built at Beaver. I look forward to hearing about great things happening at BASD moving forward, and I will continue to faithfully cheer on the Bobcats!”
And we wish you all the best, Dr. Beltz.
