As the school year comes to a close, that means the end of spring sports. But the baseball season isn’t over yet with the Beaver Bobcats standing 10-2 in the conference and 13-5 overall, the team is doing great this year.
The team has had many outstanding performances this year. Senior JJ Shallcross had a story written about him and his homeruns, and in the “Times Top Performances: Week of May 9, freshman Ty Butler, junior Liam Dorsky, and Shallcross all were featured in the story.
“This year, I feel like the team has been pretty special mostly because our team consists of nine seniors. We’ve all played with each other for the majority of our careers, and we have great team chemistry, so I feel like that’s how our team has succeeded so well this year,” said senior Logan Martinelli.
“We are 12-5 in non-section and 10-2 in the section. We have had a really good season this year and we are in the second round of the playoffs right now. We definitely think that we have a shot at winning playoffs this year, but we need to play at our full potential to succeed,” said sophomore Corbin Sevick.
Make sure to support the Bobcats in their next playoff game this afternoon at Laurel Highlands.
