Tis’ the season of giving—and with that comes the TLC Present Drive!
As an annual tradition, Mrs. Sams and the Teen Leadership Corps (TLC) of Beaver Area High School teams up with Child and Youth Services of Beaver County to gather Christmas wishes from foster care children in the area in efforts to give back to the community and give every child an opportunity to have a magical holiday.
The drive is completely virtual through an online registry where you can purchase gifts through Amazon and Target using the link: tinyurl.com/tlcpresentdrive. All of the gifts will be shipped to Mrs. Sams, and all members of the club (and anyone who wishes to help) will do the wrapping.
TLC asks for all gifts to be ordered by December 12 to make sure the gifts arrive on time to distribute. And if you are not able to buy an entire gift, money donations of whatever you can give are also encouraged. Every little bit helps the drive!
About the event’s importance, Mrs. Sams graciously stated, “because during Christmas, more than any time of the year, it becomes more apparent everyone does not have the same access and privilege to receive gifts. We want to make sure students in foster care can receive many Christmas gifts in an uncertain time in their lives.”
Mrs. Sams also said her “favorite part [of the TLC Present Drive] is watching the gifts arrive, the enthusiastic students who get to wrap presents, and seeing all the gifts in a pile.”
Her and the club’s dedication to this cause is a very inspiring sight to behold during this season of giving back to others!
