Make sure you plant your wheat and sheer your sheep because the childhood favorite game, Hay Day, is making a comeback.
Recently students have started to redownload the game when it started to blow up on social media cites like TikTok.
“Hay Day is a fun newly trending game, and I think others should join,” said junior Kenzie Fleming.
If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what Hay Day is then you just might have been missing out.
Hay Day is a farming game, which initially sounds boring, but it’s actually quite fun.
The game starts out with an abandoned farm which the player has to then rehabilitate and advance.
The player is given a few plots of land, wheat, and coop of chickens but that’s basically it, but don’t worry because the more levels you complete the more crops, animals, decorations, and machines you can unlock.
One of the best parts of the game is customization and personalizing your farm, but to do this you have to level up, but how do you do that?
The more game XP you get the better level you can get. To get XP you can just go throughout the normal farming gameplay by planting crops and making goods through the production machines, but you can get XP faster when you complete several types of tasks and challenges.
One of those types of tasks is completing truck shipments or boat orders. These are two types of shipment methods where you can make specific goods or crops in exchange for money and XP.
Players can also sell their crops to visitors who ask for materials. The materials sold give the player money as well as XP.
Another fun feature of the game is the ability to connect with friends. You can share your code with friends and even join neighborhoods which gives you the abilities to help each other out and complete challenges together.
Additionally, connecting with others can give players the ability to trade or sell goods. If you’re in a neighborhood you can ask for someone to donate a crop or good to you. A player can make money selling materials in their roadside shop and even search for materials they need in the catalog.
So once you have accumulated money what can you buy for your farm?
What’s a farm without animals? Hay Day has tons of animals that you can buy. Chickens are of course the first animal you can buy but other animals come at other levels. Cows are unlocked at level 6, pigs are unlocked at level 10, sheep are unlocked at level 16, goats are unlocked at level 32, and many more! All of the animals are bought with coins.
Along with the animal options are also pet options like dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, birds, and more. These animals are a bit different because they are bought with vouchers, which is a different type of currency unlocked at level 20. Vouchers are a little more hard to come across than coins because you can’t sell anything for the price of vouchers. Vouchers can be found in mystery boxes, the mystery wheel, completing boat orders, etc.
Sanctuary animals will be another type of animal players come across and they will be found in the town unlocked at level 25.
The decorations a player can buy can really light up a farm. Players can buy ponds, fences, paths, flowers, gazebos, fun ornaments, and more! The decorations can be bought with coins, gems, vouchers, or even gifted though free gifts.
The more you play the game, the more fun features will be unlocked. For example, the mine is unlocked at level 24, the valley is unlocked at level 25, the fishing boat is unlocked at level 27, builder unlocks at level 31, and town unlocks at level 34.
There’s always something to do on the farm and Hay Day sure makes it fun. So if you’re in the need for a fun new game or a nostalgic game to brighten your day, maybe give Hay Day a chance.
“Hay Day is the best game to exist on this planet. Add me at #PU2VCL2CR and send me screws and wood planks,” said junior Gracie Turyan.
