Yeck Farms- Located in Freedom, this local pumpkin patch is the place to be during Pennsylvania autumns. Along with tons of pumpkins to choose for carving, they have apple picking, hayrides, food, and more!
Senior Brianna Spirk commented: “it was a cute little farm with a maze, pumpkins, and a petting zoo. It was a great way for [my friends and I] to spend time together and do something we don’t do often!”
It’s fun for all ages but is definitely a family-focused space.
Maze Craze Corn Maze- Love corn mazes? Then this nearby New Springfield, Ohio attraction is for you. Their claim to fame is over 21 acres of cornfield crafted into a life-size maze which is sure to be a chaotic, fun way to spend your afternoon. And along with this giant labyrinth, Maze Craze also has hayrides, pumpkins, wooden cutouts, and refreshments.
Freddy’s Haunts- One of the most popular haunted houses in the area, Freddy’s Haunts, always proves to be a scarily good time. It is located in Aliquippa and has been family owned and operated for 30 years. Freddy’s Haunts is an old-school haunted trail that operates in rain or shine. This attraction is definitely a Beaver Area favorite.
Sophomore Kaelin Wooley stated, “I think that Freddy’s is a really scary place; however, everyone always has a super fun time with their friends, and it’s an overall good experience!”
Freddy’s Haunts also has live entertainment Fridays and Saturdays as well as bonfires every night, so if you are looking for a spooky, fun way to spend your time, it is the place to be!
Beastly Haunted Trail- Non-profit haunted house? Yes please! This Beaver County trail, run by the Beaver County Humane Society, provides the community with tons of Halloween fun.
Senior Kylee Podunavec volunteers at the Beastly Haunted Trail and said, “it is a fun experience, and all the money is raised for for the Humane Society. It is thrilling and for a good cause!”

Valkyrie Donuts- Ever tried a vegan donut? If not, this Bellevue small business is the place for you! Valkyrie is an all vegan, plant-based donut shop filled with traditional and seasonal flavors. Their Halloween and fall flavors are sure to send your tastebuds on a ride. They have donuts resembling Frankenstein, Jack-o-lanterns, spiders, mummies, and a variety of delicious pumpkin flavors. This shop is definitely the place to be to eat some fall food.
Haunted Bathhouse- The Beaver Pool (R.I.P.) bathhouse is transformed into a Haunted Bathhouse in this brand new Beaver event. Hometown Happenings is in charge of this scary event, and it is happening all weekends of October. Young volunteers are offered service hours and pizza to help put on this event, and it proves to be a fantastic, terrifying community event. This is definitely the next Beaver Area spooky tradition!
