Thanksgiving break is right around the corner, and with it comes Beaver Area’s annual Day of Giving, sponsored by our local SHOUT chapter.
SHOUT, which stands for Social Handprints Overcoming Unjust Treatment, aims to educate and inspire social change within the community, and Day of Giving is sure to be a wonderful opportunity to work towards that goal!
Next Wednesday, November 24, will feature a shortened school day schedule with a two-hour early dismissal. During this time high school and middle school students will help with community service projects around the school and community. Projects include making cards for veterans, bagging lunches, painting murals, bulb planting, and even caroling in town.
The school day schedule is changed for that Wednesday, with morning classes being periods one through four, followed by eight and nine. Around noon the day of activities will conclude to allow for lunch before dismissal, and students will go to their fifth, sixth, and seventh period classes.
This day of giving back would not be possible without Mrs. Heather Bixler and Ms. Aimee Firmani, Beaver Area SHOUT’s co-sponsors. Thanks to their help, SHOUT has been able to organize activities, gain faculty support, and plan a day of cheerful giving for the school!
If you haven’t yet, be sure to sign up for an activity with the Google Form link provided by your English teacher!
