As summer turned to fall in the last two weeks, the cross country team continued to best and be bested by their competition at several meets and invitationals.
The team first attended the Red, White, and Blue Invitational held at White Oak Park September 19. Senior Will Lamb was able to claim second overall in the boys AA section, with sophomore Ella Andrews taking tenth in girls' AA.
Then, three days later September 22 in an away meet at Hopewell high school against both Hopewell and Blackhawk (three-school meets are common in cross country), the Bobcats lost to both teams with Hopewell taking first.
Beaver Area then hosted Moon and Montour September 25 where the gracious host lost to Moon and Montour with Montour coming in first.
Finally, the team took to the trail against West Allegheny and Ambridge at West Allegheny high school—and won September 29.
Lamb believes lack of senior participation is hurting the Bobcats this season.
"With all but two seniors not returning whether from injury or lack of interest it’s been a rough season. The freshmen have been stepping up, though," Lamb said.
