The start of a new school year often includes the addition of new staff members, and this year is no different.
Mrs. Kilpatrick, who formerly worked in the attendance office, transferred to the middle school, taking the place of Mrs. Spada who retired at the end of last year. That meant Mrs. Snow moved from the front office to Mrs. Kilpatrick’s place leaving an office vacancy.
Confused? Don’t be.
We now welcome Mrs. Lori Kuhn as the newest addition to the office staff. Some of her responsibilities include helping students in the main office, assisting Mrs. Snow in the attendance office, and even occasionally standing in for Mrs. Gavazzi at the nurse’s office.
Before coming to Beaver Area, Mrs. Kuhn graduated Western Beaver High School and then worked while earning a few certificates. She has been working in this field for the past 20 years.
When it comes to feeling called to a certain profession Mrs. Kuhn stated that she feels that she’s a “people person” making her job ideal.
One thing she wants students to know about her? She’s very easy to talk to, and is there to help! In fact, that’s one of the reasons she likes the job so much.
“My favorite part of this job is being able to help students,” she shared. “I also really like the school district, and it’s close to home.”
When it comes to her biggest inspiration, she looks to her family.
“I’d have to say my biggest inspiration is my older sister, who’s a teacher.”
Mrs. Kuhn would also like to give students a bit of wisdom to remember while in school and to take with them when they leave Beaver Area.
“School can be some of the best days of your life—it may not seem like it—but try to enjoy it. And be kind to everybody, because you’ll be happy when you see them outside of school years later. You never know; maybe they’ll be your boss!”
Wise words from a wise woman! Welcome to Beaver Area, Mrs. Kuhn!
