Could they take a mulligan on this one?
Yet another season of Beaver Area varsity boys golf has come to an early and rather unfortunate end.
The team’s home course this season was again Seven Oaks Country Club, and this year’s roster consisted of Cody Brozich (senior), Stephen Matthews (sophomore), Bradley Allison (freshman), Zach Trainor (freshman), Cody Tritsch (freshman), Shawn Grindle (junior), Jaden Clay (freshman), and Grady Johnson (sophomore).
Mr. Michael Ludwig again coached the team, his sixth season as coach.
“In terms of wins and losses, this season wasn’t our greatest; we finished 2-11 overall. But I had such a good group of young athletes who wanted to learn and play. So in terms of the group I had, we had a very good season,” said Mr. Ludwig.
This season the team beat Ambridge twice for their only W’s.
The overall goal of the team is to compete in the section, which unfortunately they did not do this season. However, Mr. Ludwig has high hopes for next year.
“I feel the team will improve overall. I believe as the season progresses and we start getting into our summer workouts, we’ll get better, and hopefully we will be able to compete in the section next year,” said Mr. Ludwig.
